Dr. Avik Sinha

Dr. Avik Sinha is a researcher in the field of Energy and Environmental Economics, Applied Econometrics, and Sustainable Development. He has worked with Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University, Management Development Institute Gurgaon, and Goa Institute of Management. He is Fellow in Economics from Indian Institute of Management Indore, PGDM from Institute for Technology and Management Mumbai, and BE from National Institute of Technology Durgapur. He has published several papers in reputable journals across the world. He has been featured under the “Top 2% Scientists List” published by Stanford University for consecutive five years. He is the winner of Elsevier “2024 Highly Cited Chinese Researcher” and Clarivate “India Research Excellence – Citation Awards 2023”. His research interests include Energy and Environmental Economics, Sustainable Development, and Applied Econometrics. He is now working on policy research to attain the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), with a special focus on SDG 13, SDG 7, and SDG 8. On the methodological front, he is presently working on advanced quantile modeling, decomposition-based inequality assessment, and co-movement analysis. He introduced the concepts of Energy Transition Index, Vicious Circle of Energy Poverty, and Dark Sides of Innovation in the literature of Energy and Environmental Economics. On the other hand, he introduced the Multivariate Quantile-on-Quantile Regression and Multivariate Quantile-on-Quantile Causality methods in the literature of Applied Econometrics. He is an Associate Editor of Environment, Development and Sustainability (Q1), International Economics and Economic Policy (ABDC B, Q1), and Vision (Q2). He served as reviewer for more than 200 journals. In addition to scientific research and teaching, he has conducted training and workshops for various Universities on academic writing and econometrics.
