Gnanam School of Business successfully organized a Cerebral Connect session on “AI/ML and Emerging Tech in HR” on October 31, 2025, through Microsoft Teams. The session was led by Mr. Samik Roy Chowdhury, Assistant Vice President – Learning & Development, Reliance Jio, who delivered an engaging and thought-provoking presentation on how Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning are revolutionizing the field of Human Resource Management.

Mr. Chowdhury explained the application of AI in HR through relatable real-world use cases such as personalized learning paths, resume screening, AI-based chatbots, predictive attrition models, bias detection in data, micro learning systems, and skill-matching engines. He emphasized how these technologies enhance decision-making, improve employee engagement, and make HR functions more data-driven and inclusive.

To make complex AI concepts more relatable, he used movie analogies from Chak De! India, Lagaan, Friends, and Pink. He connected Chak De! India to AI-enabled team analytics and performance optimization, Lagaan to data-driven strategy and prediction, Friends to AI’s role in understanding human behavior and emotional intelligence, and Pink to ethical AI frameworks and bias detection in decision-making.

The speaker kept students actively engaged throughout the session with interactive discussions, storytelling, and practical examples. His ability to link theoretical knowledge with corporate applications and cultural references made the learning experience dynamic and memorable.

Students participated enthusiastically by asking insightful questions and sharing perspectives on how AI can humanize rather than replace HR functions. The event concluded with a lively Q&A session that reinforced the importance of adapting to technological transformation in the HR domain.
